Robert Kajobe is the Director DGTRI and he is also a Research Professor at Muni University. Robert was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences in Muni University (2020 to August 2022). He holds a PhD in Pollination and Bee Biology from Utrecht University, The Netherlands and a Master of Science in Beekeeping from the same University. He also holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Uganda Management Institute (UMI), Kampala and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Makerere University, Uganda.  Before joining Muni University, Robert worked at the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) in various capacities including being the founding Director of NARO’s Rwebitaba Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Rwebitaba ZARDI).

Robert’s accomplished career reflects 20 years’ experience in research, agricultural policy analysis, leadership, human resources management, resource mobilization and organizational development in universities, agricultural research organizations, NGOs and private sector. He has excellent communication skills and is able to establish sustainable relationships with stakeholders across the world. He is also a skilled mentor and a coach. Robert has published over 20 Journal articles, 4 books and 7 book chapters.
