Time spent on studies per week varies from programme to programme. However, the minimum time per week is eighteen (18) hours.

Other support and funding opportunities may come from various sponsors who have their own selection criteria. Note that Muni University has no Memorandum of Understanding with these sponsors. Students enter agreement with them as individuals, and only notify the University. Some of the sponsors already giving support to students include:
i) Madhvani Scholarships (for continuing students, in selected courses/programmes)
ii) Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE)
iii) West Nile Education Trust Fund (for the needy but bright students from the West Nile sub-region) and;
Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC) Scholarships
Admission is open to all students who meet the minimum admission requirements for programs. Under the Students Exchange Programme, the University used to receive international students from Denmark and Belgium but that has been affected this time because of the COVID epidemic. To date, there is so far only one (1) enrolled student from South Sudan.
Campus life can be very exciting and challenging at the same time especially when you find yourself in a completely new world and environment. Nonetheless, the staff and students’ leadership are readily available to direct, guide and support you to settle. The office of the Dean of Students’ oversees the general welfare of students while on campus and inspects the approved hostels where students reside. You are therefore encouraged to connect and consult with the staff in the department and the guild office as often as need arises.
There is the students’ Guild Council headed by the guild President. The Guild Council is autonomous in its leadership but with guidance from the Dean of Students and the University Administration. The student’s leadership is represented in both the University Senate and the University Council. This means students have the opportunity to present their views at any level of the University organs.
There are opportunities to express interest, campaign and get voted for a position of leadership in the student guild council. There is an Electoral Commission of the student guild elections who vets applicants for the various elective positions on the basis of their suitability such as academic performance, integrity and year of study at the University. If a candidate meets the criteria he or she is then cleared to contest for the position of interest.
Students engage in a number of extracurricular activities including games and sports. The students also engage in community outreaches, both academic and social. These include; excursions, visiting nearby schools for career guidance, participating in fundraising drives, blood donation, reaching out to the needy and the sick in hospitals. Students also participate in debates and innovation contests both locally and internationally.
To be employed in the service of Muni University, a job seeker must apply in response to an Advert run by the University in the National Media or the University Website. After the deadline of the Advert, the applicants are profiled and those who meet the job requirements are shortlisted. The shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews. After the interviews, selection of successful candidates is conducted entirely based on meritocracy. There after due diligence is conducted on candidates who merit.
