Mr. Moses Okello is a Lecturer for Crop Science in the Department for Crop Science. Moses is currently pursuing a PhD in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology at Makerere University, Kampala. He has MSc in Agricultural Biotechnology from Dr. B.S.K.K Vidyapeeth in India, and a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and Entrepreneurship from Uganda Christian University. He has over 10 years of experience working in industry, Non-Governmental Organisations, and the National Agricultural Research Organisation of Uganda. His current PhD engagement is in using CRISPR genome editing technologies to combat rice diseases in the “Transformative Strategy for controlling rice disease in developing countries Phase II(TSCRD-II)”

His areas of research interest include; Plant Biotechnology research and deployment utilizing cutting edge new plant breeding technologies, data science and analytics, plant omics, computational biology and bioinformatics, molecular biology, industrial farming and community transformation, food policies, conservation, entrepreneurship, science communication.
