Associate Professor Morgan Andama is the Dean of Faculty of Science and a senior Lecturer in Department of Biology. He has over 10 years’ experience of teaching Biology courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.


Morgan has extensively supervised and examined undergraduate, Masters and PhD students in the field of Biology.

He obtained his PhD in Biology (Paleoecology and Environmental Sciences) from Mbarara University of Science and Technology in 2015.

He has participated in writing several grant proposals and undertaking of research projects including; “Tolerance and resistance responses of African bats to viral antigens: Immunological trade-offs in zoonotic reservoir hosts”; “Testing Historical presence of Mountain Gorillas and Elephants in an African Biodiversity Hotspot using Targeted Enrichment of Sedimentary Ancient DNA"; “Enhancing skills and local capacity in Quaternary science in Eastern Africa”.

He is a member of World Association for Academic Doctors (WAAD), Eastern African Quaternary Research Association (EAQUA), East Africa Natural History Society, and Nature Uganda.

Between 2016 and 2018 he has been a Certified Biosafety Inspector for Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST).

His Research interests are;Pre- and Postharvest Management of Cassava, Water quality assessment, Reconstruction of Paleoenvironments and paleoclimate using proxies, and biodiversity conservation.

He has attendedand presented several research articles in local and international conferences and workshops and has extensively published articles in peer reviewed international journals.
