Mr. Michael Balituumye is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, where he teaches literature in English, and communication skills. He is also the coordinator of the Bachelor of Education – Primary External program. Before joining Muni University, Michael worked for the department of Teacher education and Extensions of Kyambogo University where he taught student-tutors in the areas of Language education and methods of teaching. He has also worked on several consultancies as an Educational Specialist under Professor Yovan Lubaale of the Centre for Population and Applied Research of Makerere University. He holds a master’s degree in Literature from Makerere University with the thesis title; “The Portrayal Women Rights Violation in the Ugandan Novel (1979-2006)”. He is also a PhD student of Literature at Bishop Stuart University where he is doing a narratological reading of selected novels of Ugandan authors. His areas of research interest include; critical theory with a bias towards structuralism and unnatural narrative theories.
He also takes special interest in creative writing both as a field and as a practitioner. He is the author of, A Composition Writer’s Handbook, plus several commentaries on literary novels, and poems.
